Corinth Community Scholarship Association Inc.
The Corinth Community Scholarship Association, Inc. (the CCSA) formerly known as Corinth Dollars for Scholars. We are a local non-profit organization that assists Corinth High School students in achieving their educational goals by raising scholarship funds, establishing endowments, providing assistance with college readiness and the financial aid process, and distributing scholarships each year. Our grants help high school students with tuition for college-level high school courses, as well as, graduating seniors moving on to college or trade school. Our Association has been operating for almost 30 years, benefitting hundreds of students and awarding scholarships, totaling more than $400,000!!
Years ago, we depended on an annual phone-a-thon, but that no longer occurs. Recently, we’ve hosted fundraisers such as Pins and Rims, McDonald’s Night and a Golf Tournament. The pandemic caused the cancellation of these events in 2020 and we are still in unprecedented times. Last year despite the pandemic we wrote checks for more than $25,000 and have voted to continue that level of support to our students in 2021. These necessary events keep the dollars flowing to scholars. We need your help more than ever before. Generous staff members at Corinth Central School make regular payroll deduction donations! You can make a donation by writing a check made payable to Corinth Community Scholarship Association and mailing it to P.O. Box 1, Corinth, NY 12822.
Annually, the Corinth Community Scholarship Association Inc. holds various fundraisers. Each event is chaired by members of the organization and organized with the help of all. These major events include:
Spring McDonald's Night
On May 13, 2021, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm, Renee Reardon, a Corinth Alumni, and the Exit 18 McDonald’s staff are committed to partnering with us for a drive-in and dine, raffle, and give-away event. We are seeking 20 baskets valued at $100 or more. With the assistance of Renee Reardon of Exit 18 McDonald's, we have a fun-filled night "posing" as employees. Teachers from Corinth School take orders, operate cash registers, and manage the drive-thru window. It is a great deal of fun for Corinth's students to watch their teachers serve food. In the past, you might have seen one of our principals or some of our teachers behind the register with their McDonald's hats on ready to take your order.
September Golf Tournament
On September 18, 2021, we are planning to host our golf tournament at Brookhaven Golf Course in Greenfield. This event needs support. We need golfers! We need volunteers! We need prizes! In the past, area businesses have fully supported and fulfilled this need, but they too have been hit very hard by the pandemic. If you are able to purchase local gift cards or make a donation to the event, please send a check or items to the post office box or contact Becky at 518-955-8142.
Thank You
We would like to acknowledge the teachers and staff at Corinth Central School who make monetary contributions to our organization each pay period. Thanks to all of you for your support.
