Corinth, NY — November 7, 2024 - Tomorrow, Friday, November 8, 2024, in recognition of Veterans Day, students, faculty, and staff at Corinth Central School District will participate in a special event to honor the bravery and sacrifices of veterans in our community. The event, organized in coordination with the student senate and local organizations, will feature a historic flyover of three WWII-era aircraft over the Oak Street campus. The flyover serves as a tribute to veterans past and present.
In addition to the flyover, students are invited to participate in a “Recognition Walk” on the football field. Students and staff are encouraged to wear red, white, or blue, symbolizing our national colors. Groups will walk around the field in solidarity, honoring our veterans while representing the unity and support of our school community. The walk will culminate with the historic flyover.
The student senate will also be collecting donations to benefit struggling veterans, with a suggested contribution of $2. All funds raised will go directly to support veterans, with the Wounded Warrior Project matching any funds collected to maximize our impact.
This event is not required but is open to all staff and students who wish to participate and show their respect for our veterans. Local media is invited to join us in covering this special occasion as our school and community come together to honor those who have served.
