Congratulations to our talented high school student musicians for their acceptance into the Northeast Instrumental Music Festival (NEIMF), held last weekend at the Courtyard Marriott in Lake George!
Representing Corinth were:
David Eddy (trombone) – participating for the third year,
Riley Mattison (flute), Tristan Lozier (tenor saxophone), and David Frye (trumpet) – each participating for the second year,
Parker Duerr-Clark (clarinet) and Stella Vanderheyden (bass clarinet) – attending for the first time.
We were also joined by Haley Potavin (flute) from neighboring Hadley-Luzerne. Additionally, Lila Riihimaki (clarinet), accepted for her second year, was unable to attend due to family obligations.
The festival brought together student musicians from across the Northeast for an immersive experience. The event began with seating auditions on Thursday, followed by an evening read-through of the concert program. Over the next two days, students participated in intensive band rehearsals, sectionals, and a special meet-and-greet session with the All-Star Adult Band, which this year included a remarkable 90-year-old tuba player! The weekend culminated in an outstanding Sunday afternoon performance.
These festivals provide incredible opportunities for students to learn from accomplished music educators, collaborate with peers, and create lasting connections. We are so proud of these exceptional musicians for their dedication and effort in this challenging program.
Theresa Crombach, who shared her pride in the students, said:
“I am SO very proud of these talented musicians for taking on this challenge and participating in a festival that I once participated in as a student. I cannot wait for them to bring back all that they have learned to our performing ensembles. Congratulations on an outstanding performance!”
