Sweethearts & Heroes, the inspiring organization dedicated to fostering empathy, compassion, and hope, made a return visit to the Corinth Central School District on Thursday and Friday, Dec. 5-6, as part of the district’s ongoing Social Emotional Learning (SEL) programs.
Pat Fish a Sweethearts and Heroes BRAVE and Circle specialist and colleague Josiah McKeon spent two days weaving Circles into several classrooms across the district, offering students and staff engaging opportunities to build meaningful connections and strengthen their school community. The organization’s message of HOPE (Hold On, Possibilities Exist), empathy, and action aligns perfectly with Corinth’s commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive environment for all students.
In Circles, students and staff practiced methods rooted in ancient communication traditions, which encourages participants to share openly in a safe and inclusive space. This method fosters empathy and compassion, helping students and educators address challenges and build stronger relationships.
The ongoing collaboration with Sweethearts and Heroes continues to reinforced Corinth’s dedication to Social Emotional Learning, equipping students and staff with tools to foster a culture of kindness, understanding, and resilience. Teachers who participated in Circles are excited and motivated to continue this work in their classrooms.
As the district continues its SEL initiatives, events like these play a crucial role in preparing students to navigate life’s challenges with compassion and confidence.
