Our Boys Varsity Baseball team had a great game yesterday. Here are Coach Bowe's highlights:
"The varsity baseball team started the season off with a league win. They beat Granville 5-3. The team played outstanding defense. Eddie M. pitched all 7 innings. He only gave up 5 hits and had 3 strikeouts. Eddie also hit a double that scored a run then he scored on an error right after. Josh C. had a 2 RBI single. Then Logan D. also hit a double. The team played a great team game. They were real supportive of each other the whole game."
Congratulations, Riverhawks! Keep up the great work!!

The Varsity Girls Softball team earned another win yesterday! Here are the highlights from Coach Bruno:
"The Lady Riverhawks celebrated the beautiful weather by winning their second game on the season 21-1 over Hadley Luzerne. They put up 8 runs in the first inning. Whitney Cameron started us off with a single, then Makenna Eastman singled her in, followed by a Teagan Grady single so score another run, a single by Aubrey Lozier, a 2 RBI hit for Olivia Holmes, an rbi triple for Kenadee Flint and ended with a 3 -run double from Whitney to give us an 8-0 lead.
A perfect inning of defense with 2 strikeouts for Teagan in the bottom of the first kept us up. Teagan doubled in the 2nd and was hit in by Olivia Holmes to give us a 9-0 lead.
Hadley scored 1 run in the bottom of the second on a homerun and their only hit of the game. The top of the third the Lady Riverhawks were dominant as Whitney got her third hit and scored Piper Houser and then Aubrey Lozier hit a grand slam to empty the bases as the team ended up scoring another 8 runs.
In the fourth Teagan hit a triple and Belle Cook had her first varsity hit and rbi to score her! In the fifth inning Teagan Grady completed the cycle and hit a 3 run homerun scoring Ravin Martin who had her first varsity hit in her first varsity at bat. Aubrey Lozier pitched no hit ball the last three innings to secure the 21-1 victory.
Total team effort yesterday! Great job Lady Riverhawks! We open our league schedule today with a game at Granville!"
Keep it going, Riverhawks!

Congratulations to our CHS World Language Honor Societies students for their achievements. Here are highlights from advisors, Mrs. Mullin and Mr. Petteys:

"On March 28th, we inducted 34 new students into the Corinth Spanish and French honor societies, a testament to their hard work, studies, growth, and accomplishments in their given world language. It was an elegant ceremony celebrating world cultures and languages.
Thank you to Mr. Schenone for the inspiring opening remarks, encouraging students to remain inquisitive while studying as knowing world languages and cultures can open many doors and form great connections.
A very special shout out to 2016 Corinth alumna, Natalie Collura, for returning to Corinth to share her experiences. She has used French and Spanish in both her professional and personal life. As a 2014 inductee, Natalie continues to make us proud!
This night would not be possible without the support and inspiration from our hardworking world language department: Mrs. Mullin, Mr. Petteys, Mrs. Siano, and Ms. Lemelin."

A big thank you from the C.A.R.E. Committee to Emily Dingman for her National Honor Society project of collecting snacks for students!! Those snacks - and the gracious gift card - will be distributed to our teachers and then shared with our students. CARE is so grateful for the support of Emily and the National Honor Society.
You have modeled the values we study in our Positivity Project Social Emotional Learning curriculum, including the "Other People Mindset." Kudos!

Our grade 3 students enjoyed an Asian Food Festival as a culminating activity on their unit about Japan. They learned how students in Japan prepare their own lunches, clean their own school and have learned how their school year is different from ours. Before break, students celebrated their learning with tea, rice and noodles. They gave it a try with chopsticks and did very well. We wanted to say thank you to Moon Star in Lake Luzerne providing this wonderful experience.

Kudos to the grade 3 team for supporting our Culturally Responsive-Sustaining Educational framework as we endeavor to expose our students to diverse cultures around the world!

Our varsity track team kept busy during the spring break! The snowstorm that left 9 inches didn’t deter our team from having to clear snow on the track to practice.. On Friday, about 25 track athletes and all coaches cleared the entire track in about an hour and a half. We as you can see had some fun! The coaches want to thank all the track athletes for their help in getting the track cleared so that we can practice and have our first meet of the season this coming Tuesday at home! Great job, athletes and coaches! We wish our Riverhawks/Mountaineers a great season!
