ATTENTION CMS/CHS families:
Picture Make-up Day is scheduled for 11/19/24 .
Order forms for cash/check orders are in the main office.
Instructions to participate in Absentee/Retake Day:
1. Mark your calendar!
2. Absentees and New Students/Staff should plan to be photographed on this day so they may be included on the class photos and/or the yearbook. (No purchase necessary.)
3. The same order form from the original picture day may be used for cash/check orders on make-up day.
4. In order to submit a new online order, families will need to wait for the updated proof sheet and submit an order using their student's personalized online code. Online orders will be mailed directly to the home address rather than to the school.
5. Retakes: It does not cost to have a retake. If you or your student are not happy with the original picture, please have a new photo taken.
It is helpful to the photographer to add a note to the returned pictures explaining what you would like to have changed with their picture. 6. The student does need to return the complete Picture Package in the envelope to the photographer on Retake Day. We cannot exchange your order with the Retake picture until the Picture Package envelope and its contents have been returned but we can still take a new photo if that information is not provided on picture day.

If there are questions, please contact the customer service department of Upstate Images at 855-773-3321 (M-F, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm).

It was an exciting day at CCSD as we were privileged to be part of a flyover with historic aircraft to honor Veterans in our Corinth community and across the country! Students and staff dressed in red, white and blue and were honored to celebrate the bravery of our men and women of the military. This week's character strength for The Positivity Project was bravery and today's event brought it all to life! What a fantastic culminating event to honor our American Veterans! Thank you to Mr. Schenone and the CHS Student Government for facilitating our participation in the event.

There were over 80 companies, organizations and CTE programs at the Saratoga City Center today for this career exploration event! Our 9th graders were engaged in hands-on activities, asking questions and considering the many paths available to them as part of their CHS education!

Community Announcement:
The CARE Committee is happy to share information with Corinth Families about the "Warm the Children" program.

Warm the Children (WTC) is a collaborative effort among The Post-Star and the communities it serves; in partnership with The Glens Falls Rotary, the Salvation Army, and Southern Adirondack Independent Living (SAIL), among other local agencies, to provide new winter clothing for the children who may benefit from some extra support.

Interested families can call SAIL at 518-478-6521 or email warmthechildrengf@gmail.com to apply. There are income eligibility requirements they will review with you at intake.

Once approved, the Warm the Children program matches families with a volunteer shopper to meet at a local JC Penney and you and your children get to go shopping. Budget per child ranges from $100 - $175 based on age.

Sounds like a fun and helpful resource!
Donations to this program can be made to the "Warm the Children Program" and mailed to the Glens Falls Rotary, P.O. Box 2702, Glens Falls, NY 12801

Our 2nd grade students were treated to a great day in Corinth as part of their social studies/civics lesson! Our teachers shared highlights from their "walking field trip:" "Second Graders learned all about communities and people who live and work there. We took a walk around the community to learn about Corinth history and different businesses that provide goods and services. Rocco’s, who provides goods for the community, graciously donated a slice of pizza each to our second graders! What a fun field trip!"
Thank you to Rocco's for making this lesson extra special!
A shout out to the 2nd grade team for helping our students to learn about our wonderful Corinth community!

Dear CCSD Families, This week, our school community will focus on the character strength of Bravery. Bravery means you act with mental, moral, or physical strength, even when you know things are difficult or scary.
Bravery refers to voluntary (not coerced) action in the face of a dangerous circumstance. This strength involves judgment; the brave person must have an understanding of the risks and consequences involved in acting. According to Socrates and Plato, forethought separates acts of valor from acts of rashness. This means that bravery isn’t simply fearlessness but instead the overcoming of fear.
Overcoming fears is critically important in individual development, as it allows the person to do more and become more. A person can be brave every single day. For example, some people with social anxiety are brave just by leaving their houses and talking with people. On a physical level, bravery allows us to overcome fears, such as swimming or playing a sport. And, on a moral level, doing what we know to be right, despite the risks, gives us the sense that we are acting on behalf of a larger purpose.

To practice and encourage the character strength of bravery at home, please visit The Positivity Project’s mobile-friendly website: https://posproject.org/p2-for-families/ where you can watch a video together and discuss a quote and three questions.

Thank you for your support of our Social Emotional Learning curriculum! We hope that you will ask your students about the daily lessons, discussions and activities this week about bravery!

Our Mountaineers Cross Country teams continue to excel in post season competition. Coach Flint shared meet highlights: "Congratulations to a great performance by both the Girls and Boys Varsity Cross-Country team at Wednesday's League Championship. Both Girls and Boys finished in 2nd place in a very talented group of runners throughout our league.
Top 15 finishers are awarded with a medal and we were lucky to have 11 athletes achieve that feat. For the girls team: Sam Savage, Haley Potavin, Jocelyn Trombley, Erika McGuire, Brynn Dunbar, Paisley Kitteridge, and Summer Cameron all finished in the top 15. For the boys team: Aiden Pettit, Hunter Shanahan, Makaio Potts and Marius Catheline finished in the top 15.
We will now concentrate on preparing for Sectionals that will be held in Queensbury on November 9th."
A big shout out to our Corinth Mountaineers who were selected as Adirondacks All-stars: Brynn Dunbar (1st Team) and Summer Cameron (2nd Team)! We are so proud of you!

Congratulations, Mountaineers! We wish you much success on November 9th!!

CHS alumnus (class of 2008), Blake Saunders, visited Mrs. Fay's Criminal Justice/Personal Law class this week to speak with students on the pathway to becoming a lawyer. Blake spoke of the educational prerequisites and the required testing before, during, and after his education to become a lawyer. His message also included what he believes to be the most important skills in achieving success in any career: networking, reputation and education. Mr. Saunders advised students to get involved with outside clubs and athletic activities as part of their education. He also encouraged students to believe in themselves and that they can achieve their goals with hard work and determination. Thank you for sharing your time, expertise and passion with our students as they explore career options for the future. #CorinthisCommunity #ComunityPartnerships

Our JV Volleyball Team wrapped up a very successful season this week. Coach Parker shared highlights from the final match of the season:
"The JV girls volleyball team ended the season on a win. They beat Mayfield last to end the season with a record of 10-5. The team went down losing the first set, but battled back and won the next two convincingly. The team was led by Addy Cook who had 13 service points and 7 aces. Maya Lynne Bedell had 6 service points and 3 aces. Cinthina Elvira, Lauren Rhodes played solid defense at the net and attacked the ball well. Angelica Nicholas and Charity Prosser also added to the attack by constantly putting the opposing team under pressure. Kiera Winchip played a crucial role in not only setting, but also passing the ball out of the back.
Another true team victory, where each girl stepped up to help secure the win. This team continued to grow throughout the season. I am incredibly proud of them."
Great job, Riverhawks! We look forward to seeing you on the court next season!
