Our Girls Varsity Soccer Team earned the WIN yesterday morning! Coach Kanofsky shared game highlights:
"The varsity girls soccer team earned another win Saturday morning against Gloversville 2-1. From the beginning, it was a tough battle for the Riverhawks to maintain possession, but through their quick passes and using the width of the field, they were able to seamlessly move the ball up field. Finding the back of the net was one of our sister duos: Isabella Craig and Alexis Craig from an assist by Caitlyn Crossman.
I would also like to commend Caitlyn on her first few games back after an intense injury last winter. We’re very lucky to have her back.
All players that took the field this morning worked incredibly hard. Our midfielders, Lylah Dishon, Chloe Hall and Alexis Baker locked down the midfield for us and our defense remained very strong.
I cannot say enough positive things about this team. They are an absolute pleasure to coach as they truly understand the fundamentals of working together.
We hope to see everyone at our senior game/ pink game/ cup game on Tuesday the 1st at 6:30 under the lights on the football field!"
Congratulations, Riverhawks! Great job modeling our Positivity Project character strength: TEAMWORK!

"Congratulations to the JV field hockey team on another win Friday night vs. Salem/ Cambridge. The team got both goals from Sophia Hogan who was in the right position to score each time. Callie Rigley added an assist for the first goal. Samantha Phillips added an additional assist in the first quarter.
Salem was held scoreless throughout the game with the help of the defensive play by Lyla Miele, Gracie Jones and Arabella Nichols. Sydnee Mosher had another shutout in the goal. Keep up the great work Riverhawks!!"

It was a big night under the lights for our Boys Varsity Soccer team last night! Coach Deso shared game highlights:
"The Riverhawk boys soccer team got back on track on their senior night, as they took on the Hartford Tanagers in a non-league contest. All eleven Corinth seniors started the game- David Frye, Lochlan Fuller, Arik Peris, Jase Brunell, Tyler Smolinski, Owen Baker, Sam Tangora, Alex Schiavi, Sean Ward, Daniel Hunt and Hunter Shanahan.
The first half was evenly contested with both teams trying to find space and room to finish, but there was none to be had. The Riverhawk defense of Daniel Hunt, Lucca Giaculli, Michael Petteys and Hunter Shanahan turned away any of Hartford's would-be offensive runs.
Corinth would take the field with purpose in the second half, stringing together a number of solid passes, finding space, and making some fine runs on offense. The Riverhawks first goal would come off a service from midfielder Jase Brunell, who found a streaking Tristan Lozier to put the Riverhawks on the board just eight minutes into the second half. Then, with just over 11 minutes to play, Hunter Shanahan would travel a good distance from his defensive position, finding Jase Brunell who would celebrate senior night with a finish of his own to seal the victory for the Riverhawks, while Owen Baker would enjoy his 5th shutout on the season.
Corinth now stands at 2-1-1 in the league and 6-2-1 overall. The team will be on the road next week as they take on North Warren Wednesday and Ft. Ann Friday."
Photos of senior night recognition to come! Stay tuned...

Attention, CCSD students, staff and families! Just a quick reminder that Spirit Week 2024 continues on Monday with "Country Day!" Wear your flannel, country western or country club apparel to join in the fun!! Show your school spirit!! Let's go, Riverhawks!!
Dear CCSD Families,
This week, our school will focus on the character strength of Open-Mindedness. This means being willing to consider new ideas and try new things. It involves looking at situations from all sides and not jumping to conclusions.
Open-mindedness is about seeking out and fairly weighing evidence, even if it goes against our own opinions or goals. Open-minded people listen to different viewpoints, including those that are less popular. They are often good listeners and provide balanced advice, which makes them great friends and confidants. This strength helps individuals form meaningful and lasting relationships.
To practice and encourage the character strength of open-mindedness at home, please visit the Positivity Project’s mobile-friendly site: https://posproject.org/p2-for-families/ There, you can watch a video clip together and discuss a quote and three questions related to open-mindedness.
Thank you for your support of our Social Emotional Learning curriculum. Consider asking your student about the daily lessons and discussions this week.

Our Modified Field Hockey team earned another "W" this week. Coach Crombach shared game highlights:
"Congratulations to the modified girls field hockey team on their 2-1 win over Greenwich Wednesday night. Despite the rainy, wet conditions the girls played great.
Greenwich scored first but was quickly answered by a beautiful drive to the goal by Kendall. A penalty corner right at the half was the perfect opportunity for our girls to practice their corners and see success with Olivia finding the net off a beautiful pass from Jordan. Teamwork was the name of the game with our offense and defense working in harmony to post the win! The girls are on the road next week and hope to keep this winning momentum going at Granville on Tuesday and Queensbury on Wednesday."
Keep up the great work, Riverhawks!!!

Our Riverhawks took the field this evening in the rain ready for completion. Ultimately taking the game 3-0 against Salem, Corinth held down the majority of possession throughout the contest.
