Coach Graham shares game highlights from the varsity squad:
"Congratulations to the varsity field hockey team on their win over Coxsackie Athens. The final score was 3-1.
We started off with a quick goal scored by Ava Holmes with an assist by Aubrey Lozier. We quickly put another goal in during the first quarter scored by Emily Holmes with an assist by Chloe Manning.
Coxsackie Athens then scored in quarter 2 to make the score 2-1. We then sealed the game with a goal scored by Aubrey Lozier on a penalty stroke! Our next game is on the road in Emma Willard on Wednesday."

Coach Roberts shares highlights from the modified game:
"Modified field hockey had their first win of the season against Coxsackie-Athens, ending the game 1-0.
Sawyer Anderson made the first goal of the season. The team worked consistently together and communicated well throughout the game. Our Boys Varsity Soccer Team continued their hot streak on the road last night! Here are game highlights from Coach Deso:

"The boys soccer team travelled to Granville as part of the Golden Horde Homecoming Week for a game under the lights Monday night. Once the pace of the game took shape, the Riverhawks became difficult to shut down.
Five different Corinth players would score: Jase Brunell, Logan West, and MJ Sprague each found the back of the net, while Aiden Wentworth scored a beauty from 20 yards out to register his first ever varsity goal.
Freshman Tristan Lozier also came up big for the Riverhawks tonight, earning his first ever varsity hat trick. Owen Baker earned his third shutout on the season for Corinth, who remains unbeaten in league competition, and now carries a 6-0-0 league record, and 7-2-0 overall.
The team moves on to play Bolton-Warrensburg at their field for an evening contest on Wednesday at 6:30pm. This is sure to be an exciting rematch. Please try to attend and show your support for this hard-working Riverhawk team!"

Dear Families,

This week our school community will be focusing on the Positivity Project character strength of Teamwork. Teamwork means you work well as a member of a group or team. You are loyal, reliable, and dedicated to helping your team achieve its goals.
Teamwork is the ability and willingness to place overall group success as a higher priority than individual achievement. Those who demonstrate strengths in teamwork often work to help all group members find success. These individuals are willing to commit time and resources in order to further group goals and help toward the greater good.

For individuals, teamwork often means deferring or delaying individual accomplishments in order to ensure that the group maintains a high level of success. Their commitment to the larger group effort makes them good teammates. The positive feelings associated with being part of a larger whole -- can be highly beneficial and combat selfishness and egotism.

To practice and encourage the character strength of teamwork with your child, please visit the Positivity Project’s P2 for Families, where together you can watch a video, read a quote, and talk about the answers to three questions. Have a wonderful week!

It was a big night on the field for our Boys Varsity Soccer Team! Here are highlights from Coach Deso:
"The Corinth Riverhawks continued their winning streak with a heart-thumping 2-1 victory over the Lake George Lakers yesterday afternoon on the Corinth pitch. From the open minutes of the contest, the Riverhawks controlled possession of the field for the majority of the contest, winning loose balls, 50/50 balls, and making several significant runs on the Laker defense.
Early in the second half, Corinth was awarded a free kick from 25 yards out. Sam Tangora would sail a beautifully placed ball that curled wide of the keeper's reach and found its home perfectly far post, upper 90's, to put Corinth up by one. The Riverhawks would continue to put heavy pressure on the Laker back four, and their efforts would eventually prove fruitful with 12 minutes remaining in regulation. Outside defender Sean Ward would gain control of the ball, serve a perfectly-placed ball over the Laker defensive line to find a streaking Tyler Smolinski, who would carry the ball with purpose, beating the back line, and calmly drive the ball far post to increase the Riverhawk lead.
The Lakers would earn a late game goal, cutting their lead in half, but conceding a second goal, however, was not on the menu for the Corinth back four- Alex Wiseman, Hunter Shanahan, Sean Ward and Michael Petteys. They played without question some outstanding defense, helping to secure their fifth league victory, and sixth consecutive win for the Riverhawks, who now sit at the top of their division with a 5-0-0 record in league play, and 6-2-0 overall.
The boys are on the road on Monday and Wednesday for games against Granville, and then Bolton-Warrensburg. We follow up those evening contests with the CUP GAME on Saturday, September 30th! Please continue to show your support for this outstanding group of young men!"

Congratulations, Riverhawks! Keep up the great work!
