
Grade 4 students went on a field trip t to the Spa Little Theatre as part of SPAC’s Classical Kids program. They enjoyed performing and learning about dance with local artists, Ellen Sinopoli Dance Company.
Our students were invited to a New York City Ballet performance at SPAC on July 12! Tickets for students and an accompanying adult are free. We are so thankful for this community partnership that enhances our students' education!

The NY Council of Administrators of Special Education has selected Mrs. Jill Cheney-Bovee as the 2024 Special Education Administrator of the Year!!!

We have some talented artists in grade 7! Inspired by an artist from the Côte d'Ivoire and the novel, A Long Walk to Water, from their ELA class, our students painted African villages. A shout out to Mr. Waring and Mrs. Bardin for collaborating on this multi-cultural lesson that allowed our students to share their creativity in a meaningful way while exploring other countries. Some of the masterpieces were displayed in our CMS lobby!

"Our Unified basketball team played a nail biter Vs. Hadley Luzerne last night in Corinth. Both teams finished the game tied at 28.
Jason the Baller Bellinger led our team with 12 points. Isaac "Da Pickle" Harwood was next on the board with 6 points. The team got one basket from Nate the Great Winslow, Tallulah Lu LU LaBrake and Alison the Tankl Toth.
The team played another game at home today, honoring our seniors and playing in front of the student body! Highlights from today's match up with Queensbury to come...

Modified ladies brought in another win Saturday against Granville with the score 24-8. Liz Miele hit a home run and a triple! Samantha Phillips hit a double! Every girl made contact with the ball sending our runners around the bases. The girls formed beautiful cut offs and coverage on the bases.
MONDAY'S GAME:
Modified girls won against Lake George ending the game 17- 9. Jennifer Ives had 3 doubles, Sam Winslow hit a triple and a double! Sawyer Anderson hit a home run!! Olivia Diamond and Liz Miele hit doubles! Outfielders (Morgan F., Mia B and Bailey D.) did fantastic backing up bases. Kirana Ellis and Sam Phillips hit RBI’s. Annabell did great with catching the whole game. Amazing game! One more game today to end the season!

"The JV softball team won their final game of the regular season beating Whitehall 17-10. Brooke Curry had three hits including a double. Jess Freebern, Greta Berrigan, and Alivia Burke added two hits. Jullianna French, Arabella Nichols, and Raegan Hickey all pitched to combine for a great game on the mound. It was another true team win all the way to the end and a great game to finish the season."

"JV finished off their season with a 14-2 win against Salem. Parker Duerr-Clarke pitched 5 1/3 innings, continuing to throw the ball on the mound. Kris Barnes came in to close the game out, shutting the next two players down. Our defense and bats came alive today, with multiple different players scoring runs. It was a great way to finish off the year. Thank you to all the parents for your support this year and the players for all their hard work!"

It was a big day for our CHS/HL Mountaineers Varsity Track team in Granville yesterday! Highlights from our coaches:
"Congratulations to both Girls and Boys Varsity Track teams performance at last nights League Championship in Granville. The Girls got 2nd place and received the runner up trophy. Highlights were Kayden Beaver was 1st in the 100 and 200 race. Abby Proctor was 2nd in Triple Jump and as part of our 4 x 100 Relay Team. All 3 relays placed 2nd. 4 x 100 (Arieanna Shannon, Sydney Crombach, Abby Proctor, Stella Vanderheyden), 4 x 400 (Erika McGuire, Sage Shanahan, Lila Riihimaki, Kayden Beaver), 4 x 800 (Erika McGuire, Sage Shanahan, Sophia Hogan, Maddie Baldes). Erika McGuire was also 2nd in the 800.
The boys came in 3rd place. Team highlights: Alex Wiseman was 1st in 100, 400, 4 x 400 relay and 2nd in the Triple Jump. Hunter Shanahan took first in all his events 800, 1600, and 4 x 400 relay. Aidan Chase took first in the Discus. Dan Hunt was first in the Pentathlon (which consists of 5 events). Rounding out the 4 x 400 1st place finish were Mike Petteys and Jase Brunnell.
All-Star League athletes were recognized, Alex Wiseman for top Male Sprinter, Aidan Chase for top Male Thrower and Kayden Beaver for top Female Sprinter."

A big shout out to Alex Wiseman who recently represented CHS in the Queensbury Invitational Track Meet! He earned 3rd place in the 100M race, earning a medal! Way to go, Alex!



Our grade 8 students recently participated in the "Floating Classroom" field trip. Students learned about the ecology of our region, a brief geological history of Lake George and many hands-on science activities with real world applications. Topics included: food webs and plankton, water chemistry and quality issues, water clarity and trophic state and more!
The trip included working in the stream and out on the lake on the Floating Classroom boat! A shout out to the grade 8 team for facilitating this exciting field trip that engaged students in appreciating the beauty of our region!

Our CHS Junior Prom was held last weekend! Our students started the evening with the traditional prom review in the auditorium and enjoyed an evening of dinner and dancing at the Fort William Henry. Congratulations to Prom Queen, Teagan Grady and Prom King, Tyler Earls!

Jennifer Ives finished the game pitching the last two innings. Mia and Bailey hit RBI’s. Liz Miele did fantastic with backing up on third. Kenzie Morehouse did great with backing second base. Kirana Ellis and Jennifer Ives communicated well with plays at second base. Another great game ladies. Keep up the good work!

On Tuesday May 14th, CCSD had the privilege of sending 14 female 8th grade students to SUNY Adirondack for the Let’s Go STEM program.
The Adirondack Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) organized engaging and exciting hands-on activities, where our students could learn about career opportunities in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math fields! Thank you to AAUW and SUNY ADK for such an amazing opportunity! Congratulations to the following students for being selected to attend: Bailey Daniels, Makenna Eastman, Cinthia Elvira, Morgan Fish, Jullianna French, Emma Havens, Sophia Hogan, Sydnee Mosher, Maddison Nelson, Angelica Nicholas, Heather Pita, Callie Rigley, Sage Shanahan, and Lucy Swinton.
