It was an exciting nail biter for the Boys Varsity Soccer team as the fans cheered for our Riverhawks who played with intensity. Read game highlights from the big win on Friday from Coach Deso:

"The Riverhawks hosted the Hartford Tanagers in their first league contest Friday afternoon. Despite outshooting Hartford in shots 28-5, Corinth was unable to thread the needle to find the elusive first goal, despite several offensive opportunities from the likes of Jase Brunell, Tristan Lozier, Tyler Smolinski, Sam Tangora and Aiden Wentworth.
Mike Petteys, Daniel Hunt and Lucca Giaculli soundly secured the backfield throughout the contest, turning away any promising attacks from the Tanagers.
The only score of the contest would come in the second overtime with four minutes left to play. Riverhawk midfielder Sean Ward, determined to find his way to the goal, was able to get inside the 18, ultimately drawing a foul and earning a penalty kick for Corinth.
Hunter Shanahan would calmly find the back of the net to give the Riverhawks the hard-earned victory.
Corinth is now 1-0-0 in league play, and 3-0-0 overall. Next, we travel to Greenwich on Monday night for a non-league game under the lights at 7:00pm."
Congratulations, Riverhawks!!!

A big shout out to our Girls Varsity Soccer team for earning the win last night! Here are some game highlights from Coach Kanofsky:
"Our girls had a successful first home game with a 3-1 win against Hudson Falls. The intensity and work ethic was second to none. The Riverhawks moved the ball seamlessly from one side of the field to the other, opening up space and availability for numerous shots on net.
Goals came from Alexis Baker, Erika McGuire and Sage Shanahan. Coach Crossman and I are so proud of the teamwork and love of the game this team has demonstrated everyday. Keep an eye out for our next home game!"

Congratulations, Riverhawks! Check out a few photos from the game courtesy of Mrs. Holly Capasso (THANK YOU!) See Facebook for more photos!

Our Varsity Golf Team continues to be hot on the links. Here are some highlights from last night's match from Coach Bruno:
"The Golf team won its second consecutive league match in dramatic fashion vs. Whitehall. After our # 1 and # 2 lost close matches, we needed the whole team to pick us up.
Then Liam Crooks at the #4 won his second straight match. Cooper Philo shot a sectional score to win his second straight match and Collin Vincent won his second consecutive match. We just needed to win or tie at the #3 match. Aiden Schurr delivered clutch shot after clutch shot to win his match on the last hole to give the team the victory.
It was a very exciting match and the team really pulled through for each other. Total team effort and now 2-0 on the season. Great job team! "

Congratulations, Riverhawks!

The Riverhawk golf team won their first match against Fort Ann. It was a highly competitive match with most matches going to the wire.
Parker Duerr-Clark won his match on the second to last hole, Reiley Halliday tied his match,; Aiden Schurr lost his match on the last hole, and then Liam Crooks, Collin Vincent and Cooper Philo all won their matches to give our team the win. It was a total team win and we needed everyone to contribute. "

The Riverhawks continue to excel on the field! Tonight's win comes from the Varsity Field Hockey team. Here are game highlights from Coach Graham:

"The varsity field hockey team had a big win tonight against Columbia!
Columbia came out quick and scored two goals. Our offense answered back and fed the ball to Aubrey Lozier who scored three in a row to put us on top. Sophomore goalie Maddie Rosenbrock had a great game with 10 saves. Maddie Homer stepped up as a leader on defense and helped to shut Columbia down. Jess Freebern and Megan Smolinski both showed their skills as solid midfielders, feeding the ball to the offense.
Our next match-up is a league game against Salem-Cambridge on Wednesday in Cambridge!"

Congratulations, Riverhawks! Good luck on Wednesday!

Dear CCSD Families,

This week, our school community will kick off our Social Emotional Learning curriculum: The Positivity Project! We will focus on the Other People Mindset. This means anything that builds relationships is going to make you happy.

The Positivity Project (P2) aims to empower youth to build positive relationships by understanding, appreciating, and exemplifying the character strengths in us all. People who have a strong “Other People Mindset” are able to build and maintain strong, positive relationships with others by consistently practicing these five Other People Mindset principles:
Cheer other people on when they succeed
Recognize the good in other people
Remain present when giving people your attention
Support others when they struggle
Understand that everything you say and do affects other people

While mental health is incredibly complex, we do know that positive relationships can help people become happier, healthier, and more resilient. And, the Positivity Project believes educators have a tremendous opportunity and vital role to play in this endeavor. Our nation’s youth spend a large percentage of their time in school. By deliberately and consistently teaching students that relationships are important — and that positive relationships are cultivated through character strengths and the Other People Mindset — educators can roll back these trends and create strong citizens and leaders for our communities and countries.

To practice and encourage the Other People Mindset at home, please visit the Positivity Project’s mobile-friendly P2 for families link: https://posproject.org/p2-for-families/ . There, you can watch a video clip together and discuss a quote and three questions.

We look forward to a great year with our students!
Thank you for your support!

It was a big weekend for our Varsity Boys Soccer team! Here are highlights from Coach Deso:
"The Riverhawks traveled to Northville Saturday evening under blood red skies in what would prove to be a dogfight with the Falcons in the championship game of the Ring of Fire tournament.
The first goal would come early in the contest. Sean Ward battled his way past a number of defenders and was able to find Tristan Lozier, who would slot a beautiful near post finish, putting the Riverhawks up by one.
Northville was able to find the equalizer to tie the contest up at halftime. The second half was tense, with both teams having a number of opportunities to notch the go ahead goal, but neither could find the elusive back of the net.
The winning goal would come with just 46 seconds remaining in regulation. The Riverhawks were awarded a corner kick, beautifully struck by Sam Tangora to the far post. Hunter Shanahan perfectly positioned himself, and willed the ball into the back of the net for the tournament win! It was an outstanding TEAM effort.
With this win, the Riverhawks are 2-0-0 in overall play this season as they head into the opening week of league play, set to kick off on Friday with our league opener at home against Hartford."
Congratulations, Riverhawks! Keep up the great work!

It has been an exciting first week of school on the fields! Our Varsity Football Mountaineers earned a big win on opening night of the season. Here are some highlights from the Mountaineers Facebook page:
"The Mountaineers earned their first win of the season Friday vs. Coxsackie-Athens!! CJ Parker scored the first touchdown of the season from a pass by Avery Wood. Keegan Baker scored the 2nd touchdown on a great run play. Hunter LaBrake recovered a fumble in the end zone for our last score. Our team played great defense. They swarmed to the football all night long.

Our fall sports are off to a terrific start! Our Varsity Boys Soccer Team had a big win last night! Here are highlights from Coach Deso:
"Corinth and Galway squared off on the pitch in the opening round of the first annual Northville Ring of Fire Tournament. Corinth indeed came out on fire, notching three goals in the first three minutes of the contest, earning sophomore Tristan Lozier an early season hat trick, plus one for good measure.
Additional goals were slotted by seniors Sam Tangora, Sean Ward, and Alex Schiavi. Rounding out the scoring was sophomore Emerson Rigley with a nice volley finish. The final score was Corinth-8 Galway-0, with senior Owen Baker earning the shutout in net for the Riverhawks.
Corinth travels back to Northville on Saturday at 7:00 pm to take on the tournament hosts in the championship game. Please show your support for our athletes who continue to work tirelessly in pursuit of success!"

The C.A.R.E. Committee hosted the annual Back-to-School Fair earlier this week! Please see a big thank you from our C.A.R.E. President, Mrs. Kerry Giumarra:
2024 Back to School Thank You!!

Our 3rd Annual Back to School Fair has proven to be a highlight of the start of the school year for students, families and staff alike!
This year we had over 225 students from 119 families attend our Back to School Fair on August 27th. All students were provided with their grade level appropriate school supply list in its entirety. The goal of the fair has always been to even the playing field and allow all our students the opportunity to start their 1st day of school with all their anticipated supplies. So many backpacks were picked out by our students - ranging in age from backpacks perfect for our most little Preschool kiddos all the way up to the sturdy backpacks that our high school students find most helpful.
It is truly amazing to watch our community come together with all the supplies donated to fulfill our requests. It’s humbling to watch the donations trickle in or show up in the masses to create all that was needed. A huge thank you to the Saratoga Regional YMCA Togetherhood Committee, the Hudson River Credit Union, the United Way in partnership with Nemer Ford, Craig Falkenbury and the Drive for Hope Golf Tournament , National Society of High School Scholars, Stewart Shop’s Holiday Match Program, Holy Mother and Child Church, Corinth PTSA and the Saratoga Children’s Committee for all their supply donations. Some individual community members shopped for us too. It all counts, it all matters and it is ALL appreciated!
Nothing is cooler than having some Riverhawk swag to start the school year. The CARE Committee partnered with Kristina Vivian for outstanding Riverhawk water bottles for all students. Thank you Kristina for your patience in putting together SO many water bottles. Your talent is outstanding.
We were lucky enough to work with FIVE local stylists to provide Back to School haircuts to our students. Haircuts were provided on a 1st come, 1st serve basis with 28 haircuts given onsite. Raffle prizes of gift certificates to several of these stylists were also available to students who were unable to get a cut during our fair. An amazing thank you to Callie Bills and Payge Westad of Callista and Company Salon of Saratoga, Amanda Barber, Kat Philo and Isabella Mann. Donated gift certificates to Eli’s Barber Shop of Corinth were also greatly appreciated!
Back again this year was new socks and underwear - ranging in sizes for our Pre K - adult size for our students to gather a few new items. A giant thank you to staff member and community member, Carly Gurtler who organized this drive and was able to share out the socks and underwear to our students. Thank you to Beth Douglas and Anne Marie Agnew for their donations as well! All families were encouraged to take a bag full of hygiene supplies as needed. The Women In Need organization of the Lake George region supplies us with incredibly fully stocked, ready to go, toiletry bags. Thank you WIN!
Yummy!! Dairy Haus ice cream did not disappoint!! Students and parents loved enjoying this donated ice cream served by some of their favorite teachers. Thank you Dairy Haus for sharing your deliciousness with our event!
Door prizes were raffled off to students and parents - all donated from the different establishments. Prizes included a kids bike from Walmart, Family Pack of tickets to the Saratoga, Corinth, Hudson Railway and the Saratoga Regional YMCA. Thank you! Community Resources showed up for our event! Thank you to Saratoga Children’s Literacy League, the Corinth YMCA, the Corinth Booster Club, the Corinth School Transportation Dept, the Corinth Youth Commission and the Saratoga County Youth Commission for sharing your resources with all of us.
The work of our Corinth teachers and staff over the past many months in pulling together this event is not unnoticed. We are so thankful for the CARE Committee and many teachers/ staff who shared their time with us to make this event possible. Thank you! To the Corinth CSD custodial staff, we are so very thankful for all the box moving, table setting up and taking down, garbage collecting and just plain amazing support you gave to our event. Thank YOU.
To our administration staff, we thank you for your support of our event. Inward, Onward and Upward -the slogan of our school district - is felt to its core at our event. Thank you for supporting us, our students and families in all that goes into this wonderful event. THANK YOU!
