The Corinth MS/HS Drama Department is proud to continue the tradition of inviting our Senior Citizens to our annual Dinner & Show for our upcoming production of The Play That Goes Wrong on Wednesday, March 6th at 4:30pm.
Senior Citizens are invited to join us for a delicious dinner of baked ham, mashed potatoes with gravy, vegetables, sautéed apples, dinner rolls and Boston Cream Pie while they watch our talented actors & actresses perform on the Elementary School Stage.
The doors will open at 4pm and the cost of the event is $5.00 payable at the entrance. Senior Citizens must RSVP to Jennifer Bardin by calling (518) 654-9005 extension 3402 by Friday, March 1st, 2024. Please note, this special performance is strictly reserved for our Senior Citizens.

This week our school community will be focusing on the character strength of Love of Learning in our Positivity Project Social Emotional Learning lessons. Love of learning means you master new topics on your own or in school.
Those with a love of learning are intrinsically motivated and engaged in a topic regardless of achieving an external standard. They enjoy learning simply for the sake of learning. They don’t need a prize of a high grade as a reward. Their reward is the process of doing the work and improving.
Developing a love of learning is highly beneficial for an individual. It means that they are intrinsically motivated to deepen their existing skills and abilities, or learn something completely new. Since intrinsically motivated action is correlated with positive emotions, those who act on their love of learning may also have enhanced mental and physical health. Additionally, individuals who love learning have the desire and ability to overcome challenges, due to a sense of autonomy and control over their environment.

(READ for RMHC-CR) We are excited to tell you about READ for RMHC-CR – a reading-based community service program run in partnership with area elementary and middle schools. This exciting initiative empowers students to help others by using their reading skills to raise funds that support the children and families served by RMHC-CR. Our RMHC-CR mission is to deliver and support programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children and families. Drawing on the compassion of our community, we fulfill this mission through three core programs:
• The Ronald McDonald House® provides a home away from home for families of seriously ill children, keeping them together as their children receive much needed medical treatment.
• The Ronald McDonald Family Room® extends the comfort and support of the House to families within the Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital at Albany Med.
• The Ronald McDonald Family Retreat, our newest program, provides a peaceful, supportive setting where families experiencing serious childhood illness can enjoy being together, making lasting memories.
The READ for RMHC-CR program offers schools and students the opportunity to help children and families in need in our community, many of whom are struggling with serious childhood health challenges. Students are encouraged to volunteer their time spent reading to earn donations that will help the children and families served by RMHC-CR. They become partners in supporting the health and well-being of children just like them. READ for RMHC-CR is designed to provide for the families we serve, and to benefit the students and schools who generously participate. The program:
• Helps students develop a strong sense of civic participation and community service
• Empowers young people to make a direct impact in the lives of other children
• Supports and encourages student achievements in reading, a core skill vital to future success
• Allows children to use their reading skills – at whatever level of mastery they have achieved – to make a positive difference in their community

Last week, National Guard Presenters, Tony DeSena, Specialist Matt Clark and Sergeant Ryan Schyberg, spent some time with Mrs. Fay's business students conducting mock interviews.
Students were asked a series of questions by an interview panel that they would expect to be asked at a real job interview. Students had time to prepare prior to the interview, practiced body language and etiquette, supporting our CDOS (Career Development and Occupational Studies) standards. Thank you to the National Guard for your commitment over the years as a community partner in education.

Our Girls Varsity Basketball team had a big win on Saturday evening! Coach Hoertkorn shared game highlights:
"The Varsity girls basketball team beat Catskill Saturday night in the first round of sectionals. It was a total team effort against an athletic Catskill team.
Taylor Stone had a great game on both sides of the ball and had a double double of 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Emily Dingmon also had a double double with 14 points, 11 rebounds, and 7 assists, often turning a rebound into transition for us, always looking down the floor for her teammates.
Whitney Cameron followed with 10 points, 3 rebounds, 4 steals, and 4 assists. Whitney was very aggressive getting to the basket last night and taking care of the basketball against Catskill’s press.
Riley Dumas and Kenadee Flint did a great job on both ends last night as well, limiting Catskill’s shooters and helping handle the ball when necessary.
It was a great win for the team, and every player on the team contributed, and have been all season. I am so proud of what this group has accomplished, and continues to strive for, even through any adversities. Thank you so much to everyone who came to the game, and have supported all season. It was a great atmosphere, and we appreciate it so much! Our next game is Wednesday against Mechanicville at 6pm in Greenville!"

Love produces positive feelings, which help negate loneliness, anxiety, and depression. Without love, we cannot form strong relationships with our families, friends, or communities. A world without love is a dangerous world.

"The Varsity girls basketball team finished the regular season with a non- league win over Hudson Falls last night. The girls have been working so hard to get ready for sectionals and improve every game.
Emily Dingmon had another great all around game, finishing with a double double of 22 points, a very impressive 23 rebounds, 5 steals, and 3 assists.
Whitney Cameron had a great game on both sides of the ball finishing with 13 points, 4 assists, and 2 steals. She did a great job managing the offense against an aggressive Hudson Falls team.
Riley Dumas, Taylor Stone, Caitlyn Crossman, and Isabella Craig were also great on both sides of the ball, disrupting what Hudson Falls wanted to do on offense. Isabella and Caitlyn combined for 12 points and 9 steals as well. Caitlyn added 6 rebounds, and has been such a strong rebounder for us all season. Taylor also added 4 points and 9 rebounds.
This team continues to find ways to improve every day, and have done such a great job to get to this point heading into sectionals. The seeding meeting is this Wednesday."
