Our JV Volleyball team continued their win streak last night. Coach Parker shared match highlights:
"The JV Volleyball team won its third game in a row last night, beating Hartford in two sets. That moves the Riverhawks record to 5-2 on the season.
The team was led by Lauren Rhodes and Addy Cook who each had 8 service points,; Lauren had 5 aces and Addy had 4. Trinity Prosser and Maddi Nelson both did a great job setting for each set.
Our pink game is approaching (on October 11th), we hope to see many of you there to help support such a great cause!"

Our JV Field Hockey team earned the "W" yesterday! Coach Haskell shared game highlights:
"Congratulations to the girls junior varsity field hockey team on another win over Emma Willard. The team won by a score of 3 to 0. The Riverhawks got goals by Lyla Miele, Callie, Rigley and Gracie Jones. Callie also chipped in with an assist.
The team had an amazing defensive effort, and we look forward to our next contest on Friday versus Hoosick Falls."

Our Boys Varsity Soccer team continues to thrive this season! Coach Deso shared highlights from last night's game:
"Corinth travelled to North Warren yesterday afternoon for a league contest, ultimately holding the Cougars scoreless 5-0!
The Riverhawks would find the back of the net early on in the opening minutes, as Alex Schiavi would find Sean Ward who would scramble for the finish to put Corinth up by one. The remainder of the first half would see a battle for control of the midfield, but none of the players' efforts would produce any additional first half scoring.
In the second half, all cylinders were firing for Corinth. Sean Ward would start off the second half scoring with a tough, solo finish to put the Riverhawks up by two. A short time later, Corinth earned a free kick from forty yards out. Michael Petteys was able to catch the keeper out of position, and blasted a shot over his head, earning his first goal of the season as a Corinth defender. Minutes later, Aiden Wentworth would slice through the middle and connect with Ward who would earn his hat trick on the evening. Rounding out the scoring for the Riverhawks was a gritty goal from Tyler Smolinski off an assist from Schiavi, his second for the night. Owen Baker earned his 6th shutout on the season with this convincing win.
The Riverhawks are now 3-1-1 in the league and 7-2-1 overall. The team travels to Ft. Ann on Friday for a critical league contest! Please continue to show your support for this hard-working group of young athletes!"

"The girls varsity soccer team had their senior/pink/cup game last night, ultimately defeating Hadley-Luzerne 4-0. With some amazing passing sequences, the Riverhawks were able to find the back of the net. Goals came from Caitlyn Crossman, Alexis Baker and Sage Shanahan.
This team has been doing some amazing things on the field and I couldn’t be prouder. Congratulations to our two seniors, Caitlyn and Kerrigan, on amazing high school soccer careers. Keep an eye out for our next home game on 10/8 under the lights at 6:30 against Whitehall!"

A big shout out to Coach Graham, Coach Haskell, Coach Crombach, Coach Roberts and members of the field hockey teams who volunteer their time to provide this incredible athletic opportunity to our youth to promote interest in the sport, build skills and teach many other valuable lessons that accompany participation in sports!
We are fortunate to have a strong program at the modified, JV and Varsity levels for field hockey, in part, because of the commitment to cultivate the future of the CCSD field hockey program!!

Our 1st grade students participated in apple testing this week as part of their science lesson. Some of the students were not excited to try the apples. But, our 1st graders modeled The Positivity Project character strength this week: OPEN MINDEDNESS! All of the students tried all 3 kinds of apples! Great job, students. We are proud of you!!!

"The golf team won again bringing their league record to 6-1 with a decisive win over Fort Edward/ Argyle tonight. We brought our whole team and they did not disappoint!
Harper Houser won his first varsity match ever. Gage Bardin, Collin Vincent, Liam Crooks, Parker Duerr-Clark all picked up victories with Parker shooting another sectional score.
Aiden Schurr who has come up clutch in a lot of tight matches came back after being down 2 with two holes to go to tie his match. But the day belonged to Reiley Halliday who not only won his match but shot a 39 and was medalist on the day. Congratulations team! Next up for the golf team is a home match Wednesday vs Granville!"

Lila Riihamaki had a strong presence on the court including 3 kills. Valerie Hunt led the team with 14 points, 4 aces, 8 assists."

It was perfect weather on Friday for Riverhawk Day 2024! We kicked off spirit week by recognizing all of the athletes who compete in grades 7-12! Mr. Schenone welcomed our 5th and 6th grade students who participate in community athletics to join the Modified, JV and Varsity athletes on the field!
Our CHS Pep Band kicked off the pep rally and finished with the Alma Mater!
Our CHS Cheerleaders sparked some school spirit with their cheers and performance!
Hudson the Riverhawk was present to celebrate Riverhawk Day!
The high school students participated in a Battle of the Classes to conclude the event!!
